The Fill2Pure Alkaline Water Filter Jug claims to be one of the most efficient ways to make alkaline water at home, but is it?
To find out, we took this great product and have put it through its paces for the last 3 months to find out, and the results have been pleasantly surprising.
I must admit that at first I was skeptical that it could deliver the additional alkalinity that it promised, but as you’ll see in the review of the jug below, this product is the real deal.
From its large 3L capacity (Sorry about the mistake in the video), through to the lifespan of the filters I’m honestly impressed.
How does it work?
Ordinary filter jugs work by removing all of the minerals from your drinking water, both the good and bad. However the Fill2Pure jug only removes the bad minerals and heavy metals, leaving behind the good alkaline minerals.
How much of an increase does it get?
This depends on the water that you put in to start with. Here in Brisbane our water is an acidic 6.8pH to start with, so we were facing an uphill battle. However the Fill2Pure pH Jug managed to get that up to a healthy 7.9pH with just 1 filter. And by adding a touch of baking soda you can take that up into the 8’s with ease.
The Jug Design:
Being a 3L jug its bound to be big, which is good and bad at the same time. It doesn’t quite fit into the door of our fridge and sort of sits half way out, but it is stable enough and hasn’t caused any issues in the last 3 months.
The Filter Life:
The life of the pH Filter in this jug is one of the best on the market with a 600L filter life. The instructions claim that if you ‘flush’ the filter with the attachment you’ll be able to get more life out of it. We’re now up to the ‘flushing’ phase as 2 thirsty athletes drinking 4-5L a day each has accelerated its use. However for the average user that is 200 re-fills, so it should last 6 months.
Overall Rating:
Overall this product is fantastic. I give it an 8.5/10, with the only reason it didn’t score a 9 being how it fits in the fridge. But with that said, we do have a small fridge, so you mightn’t have an issue.
