Did you know the cereal is the most popular breakfast choice? When there is so many different breakfast options to choose from it’s funny how cereal makes the top 10 List.

For me, getting out of bed and going for a run in the morning is easy because of the breakfasts I have when I return.

It’s almost like an incentive to exercise because I can return home to the most delicious meal of the day!

 

and for me it’s not necessarily cereal. But for majority of the population it’s cold cereal, Smoothies, Toast, eggs, fresh fruit, hot cereal and breakfast sandwiches!

So for the majority of the people who enjoy their cold cereals in the morning I have created a list of recipes which are a much healthier alternative to the store bought ones. Not only will your child enjoy this variety but also you!

Below is my list of 6 golden super healthy, incredibly easy and outrageously delicious breakfast cereals you can make at home:

Taste Like Frosty’s only healthy 

(470 calories, 32.1g Fat, 38.5g carbs, 11.1g fibre, 0.5g sugar, 12.5g protein)

SweetMe Chia Oats

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. SweetMe
  • 2 tbsp. Chia Seeds
  • handful almonds
  • 1 cup unsweetened Almond milk

 

Directions:

  1. Add everything into your bowl and enjoy straight away

*Alternatively you can soak them overnight for a delicious “overnight oat” variety

 

 

Toasted Gluten Free Muesli

(820.7 calories, 53.3g Fat, 73.5g carbs, 15g fibre, 15g sugar, 27.1g protein)

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup almonds
  • ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp. sunflower kernels
  • 2 tbsp. buckwheat groats
  • ¼ cup goji berries
  • 2 tbsp. Cranberries
  • 1 tbsp. Chia Seeds
  • 1 cup rice puffs
  • 1 cup unsweetened Almond milk

 

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees celcius
  2. Add almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and buckwheat groats in the oven and toast for 8-10 mins
  3. mixed them in a bowl with coconut oil and SweetMe and coat well
  4. Add millet puffs, raisins, chia seeds and goji berries to the bowl and mix well
  5. serve with unsweetened almond milk!

Chewy Chocolate Oats 

(362 calories, 21.1g Fat, 8.6g carbs, 11.1g fibre, 0.2g sugar, 8.6g protein)

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp. SweetMe
  • ½ cup rice puffs
  • 1 cup unsweetened Almond milk

 

Directions:

  1. Combine your oats and millet puffs in a bowl
  2. Add coconut oil, SweetMe, and cocoa powder to the oats and puffed millet and combine well
  3. serve with unsweetened almond milk!

 

Cranberry and Macadamia Muesli

  • 1 cup unsweetened Almond milk

 

Directions:

  1. pre heat oven to 180 degrees celcius
  2. Toast oats and sesame seed in oven for 8-10 minutes
  3. Combine oats, sesame seeds, and sweetme into a mixing bowl
  4. Serve into a breakfast bowl and add all remaining ingredients
  5. enjoy!

  • ¼ cup macadamia nuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. SweetMe
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Almond milk

 

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients into your breakfast bowl and enjoy!
