It’s officially the first day of summer and if you’re anything like me you’re probably still stuck with a winter bulge.

Unfortunately with summer you can’t it under a baggy loose jumper anymore because now it’s all about wearing crop tops, bikinis and short shorts!

 

If you want to loose the extra 2-5 kilos from winter, then good news is it won’t be too hard because in summer your appetite naturally declines.

 

Meaning you naturally prefer to eat lighter foods like crispy fresh salads and lightly steamed veggies, fresh pieces of fruit, and so much more. But not just this, you’ll also consume more water.

 

So to loose those 2-5kilos from winter the secret is to:

 

  • Do cardio
  • Tone your core
  • Eat healthier and lighter
  • Drink heaps of water

 

Do Cardio

 

Cardio is important for weight loss because it helps you lose weight, sleep better and feel better, which results in you having fewer cravings for fatty, salty, sugary foods and also promotes healthier eating. If you eat right along with regularly cardio workouts you’ll lose the belly fat SO quickly.

 

The kind of cardio varies on what you prefer. For me I LOVE slow casual long distance running but you might prefer high intensity 20-minute cardio sessions. All of these give you the same results, so choose the style you prefer and commit to doing cardio at least 3-6 times a week.

 

Tone your core

 

By working out your core you are tightening your complete abdominal area and reducing any loose fatty skin. Regular core exercises also promote healthier eating and also encourage small portion sizes, as your stomach feels tighter.

 

Eat healthier and leaner

 

By eating more salads, fresh juices, green smoothie, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and fewer fats you’ll have no problem reaching a flat stomach or your weight loss goals. Avoid all sugar, artificial sweeteners, saturated fats, processed foods, fast food and lots of carbs to gain your new hot summer bod.

 

Drink heaps of water

 

Drinking water will vitalize you, flush out toxins and help you go regularly, all of which help support weight loss. The more water you drink the less hungry you feel and the healthier you want to be.

 

For inspirations and some new ideas I have included an example of a healthy daily meal plan. This is a reference of what you could eat, along with regular cardio and core exercises, to successful lose weight in summer:

 

Breakfast:

 

1 litre of water with lemon juice

Green Smoothie

 

Morning Tea:

 

1 litre of water

1 tbsp. hummus and veggie sticks

 

Lunch:

 

Salad of spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, roast pumpkin, ¼ cup cooked quinoa, roast pumpkin drizzled with a tahini dressing

 

Afternoon Tea:

 

1 litre of water

Protein Shake and piece of fruit

 

Pre-dinner snack

 

1 litre of water

 

1 tbsp. Almond butter and Nori Rolls

 

Dinner

 

Pan fried salt and pepper calamari and Lime on a bed of Cucumber salad

 

Dessert

Chocolate unsweetened almond milk granita

 

By reducing your alcohol, sugar, processed and fast food intake, increasing your diet with fresh veggies, lean proteins and enjoying in fewer carbs, while regularly exercising, you’re body will be able to return to normal and your tummy will be super flat and sexy.

 

And that is how those annoying 2-5 kilos will fall off. Just by simply changing your diet and be more active.
